Now on this episode of Internet Business Mastery, we’re going to do part four of the Online Business Blueprint. And it looks like there’s going to be one more final part. So this will be a five-part series. We didn’t even know when we started it was going to be.

Jay: olHHoly cow – five parts!

Sterling: Alright, and then in the Quick Tip, we’re going to give you an automation program that can save you hours of busy work every single week.

And we’d like to remind you if you’d like to get a jumpstart on creating your own profitable internet business using our proven system, claim your risk free trial membership at the Internet Business Mastery Academy by going to FreeAudioGift.com.

So Jay, I know you’ve been double working this last week, which is completely strange for us and for you especially. So what’s been going on? Why are you working so much?

Jay: Actually I’ve been keeping my hours mostly to normal, but I’ve had to be extremely efficient in the work I’ve been doing, and that’s because I was getting my new blog launched. I know I mentioned that a long time ago here that I’ve been working on that, and finally everything came together with the new design, the new logo, the new content, and the brand new JasonVanOrden.com is now up and going with the new re-brand, the new themeing going on.

And basically what I’ve wanted to do, as most people listening to this know, I’ve been up a brand for myself in the podcasting space as a podcasting expert. And I’ll still be talking a lot about that, but really I’m kind of sidestepping my brand to talk about ultimately the bigger picture – the thing that gets me really excited, the thing that I’m passionate about, something that we teach in Internet Business Mastery as well, but going in very specifically in this area.

And that is using new media to get the attention of your market, and to engage with them, and then to get them to pay you money for the value that you offer. So the new blog and podcast are called “Mastering New Media,” and they’re now up and running at JasonVanOrden.com.

And it’s a redesign that’s long been overdue, but it’s finally there. So I’m quite excited to have that out there for people to check out and for the things that will be coming in weeks for that particular site.

Sterling: Well just so everybody knows, give everybody an idea of what you mean by ‘new media.’

Jay: Well, when I say ‘new media,’ that’s referring to obviously podcasting, that’s still going to be a heavy focus, but then also blogging in addition, online video as well, and even things like Twitter and Facebook. I mean the point here, and what we teach in the Academy, and what I’ve even taught myself for a long time, is that whatever your niche is that you’re hopefully becoming a trusted leader and expert in, you need to get that content, that message, that personal brand out there through as many channels as possible.

And of course podcasting has worked extremely well for us, and for myself, but there’s all these other content channels, and those should absolutely be part of this process, syndicating yourself to establish a preeminent position across the internet.

So taking that content and doing it as a blog post, doing it as a podcast, getting a video out there as well on YouTube, and all these different places, having your Twitter following, having it syndicated through Facebook where millions and millions of people are going every day now.

I just saw statistics saying now people are spending more time with their social networks than they are with their email inbox, which is actually quite huge. So you’ve got to be in all these channels, and it’s not as big and daunting of a task as it may sound.

These are actually very powerful and very effective tools, and if you have the right strategies, you can use them to benefit your business greatly. And so that’s kind of what I’ll be talking about through my new blog and my podcast. Awesome.

Sterling: Sounds great. I know that I’ve been watching what you’ve been doing with your own new media, your blog and that kind of stuff. Just waiting so that I can go ahead and steal that template.

Jay: That’s right!

Sterling: So one of the ways you’ve been able to cut down the hours even though you’re working on kind of two different separate projects is one of the things that I’ve been really excited about in the last week, and that’s from GetReplaceMyself.com. And I think I’ve listened to the ‘Welcome’ audio inside that program two or three times now, and I know you’ve listened to it at least once and was able to hire a couple of V.A.’s not only for us, but one for yourself as well right?

Jay: Yeah, if anybody who’s listened to the show for a while, I mean I think our passion comes across every week, but every once in a while there’s something that comes up that’s just life changing, earth shattering, and we get very effusive about this thing. Things like ‘The 4-Hour Work Week’ book last year, there are different books we read, different programs we come across, and this certainly has been one of the most impactful things in my business this year and even in the last several years of being an entrepreneur.

We talk about Virtual Assistants and outsourcing a lot, but you know admittedly there are still a lot of pieces we’re still missing, and we’re fortunate to have a friend whose definitely cracked the code when it comes to this whole idea of replacing yourself and working less while still making more money. And a key aspect of that is hiring the right people for your team, hiring Virtual Assistants, hiring these people, and even full time to work for you.

And the way that that is made to be affordable is by hiring them overseas and in particularly in his program – the Philippines. So yeah, when I listened to that audio, it was just earth shattering stuff, it was amazing. And I was seeing a lot of little holes that I still had in my outsourcing plan, in my outsourcing system. And it’s just amazing now to see this taking place and geling.

And so over the last couple of weeks using his system, now hired three people full time – two for Internet Business Mastery, and one for myself. And it’s just going extremely, extremely well. And I’m just kicking myself, I im’d him (instant messaged him), John Jonas the creator, and said, “You’re making me feel like a fool here, because you make it so easy. I’m just like, why wasn’t I doing this in this way two or three years ago?”

But you know, that’s why you learn from people who have gone forward and figured it out, and you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. So yeah, high, high recommendation for the GetReplaceMyself.com system if you’re looking to putting that kind of system into action for yourself which I think everybody listening to this should. I think you would be amazed at how affordable it is when you get into the nitty gritty of it.

Sterling: Well, one of the things for me is now everything I do with say the Google Calendar, and my system of how I work, now I go through everything and think to myself, “Uh, do I even need to do this?” Now we have two more guys, so that’s basically sixteen hours a day more we can leverage with somebody else doing stuff. I look at things and go, there’s two hours I don’t need to do today. I can just give it to one of our guys. And believe me, that completely changes everything.

I mean it’s not like we do 8-hour days anyway, but we keep going, “Okay, what about today? What about tomorrow? What’s tomorrow? What is on my list that I should be giving to one of our guys?” And it’s funny because we have a lot of people working for us, at various times it’s around fifteen people, but everybody’s freelance.

And there’s a complete difference in freelance than the full time. Like understanding that every single day now we have two people that are complete full time, that’s sixteen hours that they’re going to be working. And you know, so it’s like, how do we fill that time? And of course he talks about that in the program, but then it completely changes how you think of with the next week’s planning.

I look at next week and I go okay, have him do this, and create a procedure list so I don’t even have to create it. It’s absolutely fascinating. And in my mind I keep thinking wow, with all this extra time I could be focusing on strategy and traffic generation, that’s it.

Like the things that are very important there for you like with the website stuff, and having somebody take care of little problems so you don’t have to. I mean it’s so exciting not to have to do some of this stuff, I can’t even tell you. And if you could start your business with this, it’s invaluable.

Jay: Oh yeah, with the launch of this site and another site that will be coming out next month, it definitely would not have happened without mobilizing a number of different people including full time Virtual Assistants. So now I can get so much more done, whereas before there wasn’t much time left over. I was putting everything into Internet Business Mastery, there wasn’t much time left over without working overtime which I refuse to do.

There was only so much time that I wanted to work every week, and now I’ve probably got five or six people today literally right now, mobilized working on different parts of these projects. And that’s the only way to make it happen, so if somebody came to me now and said, “What is the fastest way from where I’m at right now to where you’re at right now?” I would say, sign up for the Academy, go to GetReplaceMyself.com, hire a full time V.A., and you’ll be doing well in a few months.

And that’s just the absolute truth, yes it’s an investment, but anybody listening to this who’s thinking, “Man, it’s always so much information and only so much time. And maybe I still have my full time job and I just can’t manage to get it all done.” Well figure out a way to afford getting this full time V.A., and again, we’re talking for a matter of a few hundred bucks a month, $200, $300, $400 tops a month you can hire somebody full time – 160 hours a month working for you.

You get in the Academy, and you just hand everything to them. You say, “Look, you go through it and design what you want.” And for all the little particulars and details, you say, “Here, go do it! Here just set this up the way it says.” And you can still be spending the time with your family and all the other responsibilities that you have, and this will still be getting going, and on the side and you’ll actually be able to replace yourself, or duplicate yourself, whichever way you want to look at it.

So that would be my answer for that question of, “What is the fastest way from Point A to Point B?” That would be it.

Sterling: Awesome, well I completely agree and wish I had of started that way as well.

Jay: Yeah, totally.

Sterling: Well it looks like we’re already packing this episode. We haven’t got out of the chit chat. We’ve got so much stuff in this episode, so many cool things, so I guess we should probably jump into the featured segment.

Jay: Let’s do it!

And now the featured segment…

Jay: Alright, now we have arrived at Part four. Yes, part four out of five now total parts to our Online Business Blueprint. This is our complete step by step system of how you can get your own profitable business off and going, and making money for you.

So last time in Part three, we talked about attracting a community of loyal customer who look to you as a trusted advisor, and who will buy again and again, and how that is the most important asset that you can get for your business.

And then step number seven was to create compelling content that will continually keep that community engaged, and tied to you, and build up that relationship of trust so that when the time comes to find out what they want and make a product to fulfill that, and to sell it to them. The influence is in place and the trust is in place so that marketing and sales are extremely easy.

So now that brings us to steps eight and nine which we’re going to go over today – ‘Savvy Secrets for Effective Email Marketing’ is step eight, and we’ll be talking about email marketing. And step nine is about ‘Generating Massive Daily Traffic to Your Site and Product.’

So email marketing, what is it? Well email marketing is sending regular messages to a list of people who have given you permission for you to contact them. So we’re talking about permission based marketing, we’re talking about people who have opted in through some kind of form on your website or otherwise and said yes, send me email on a regular basis, your newsletter or whatever it may be. If you’ve looked at our site, you’ve seen we have an email newsletter that you can sign up for and you get a bonus gift for doing that, and you get regular updates every week with some of the latest tips and content and things in there.

So that’s what email marketing is, and it has two purposes. Well actually let’s talk about why it’s important first. This goes back to the whole building up the loyal community of customers, email marketing is an extremely effective way still for keeping people’s attention and keeping them refreshed of who you are and what your brand is, and contacting them on a regular basis, and delivering value to them such as that relationship and trust built up over time.

And it’s also extremely powerful when it comes to converting to money. I mean putting a link in their inbox, a call to action in their inbox, is still a very profitable way to get people to act, to get people to buy, to get your market to do whatever it is that you’re trying to get them to do.

Sterling: Yeah, and we’ve had several emails that have converted to nearly $60,000. And I’ll tell you what, you send out an email and make almost $60,000, and it’ll make you sit up and take notice. And in fact, it works so well that we’ve done it again and again.

Jay: You know, and some people say, “Oh, email marketing’s not effective any more. It’s dying…” and we talked earlier about how people are at spending more time with their social networks now. But the truth of the matter is, it still works and it still should be part of your system, and in fact is something from day one that you need to be doing is building that list. And so that’s why we have a whole course around this step – step number eight of email marketing inside of the Academy, because it is such a critical part of the business system.

So the overall purpose is twofold – to build a relationship with your community, and number two, to send direct marketing messages that invite the leads or previous customers to buy products and services that you offer, or also products and services that you recommend to them (affiliate income and stuff like that).

Alright, well a way to start with all of this is to first find a dependable system for maintaining your email list. And this is absolutely not a place to cut corners. I mean if your most valuable asset is your relationship with the loyal community of customers that you keep in touch with regularly, who look to you as a trusted leader, that you directly offer value to, and then are able to make money from, the means by which you communicate with them is going to be absolutely critical.

You do not want to cut corners on that, a lot of people, they’re tempted to go with a free service or to use a Google Group, or to use some little free script that goes on their website and runs the thing, or they just copy and paste it into the carbon copy field, which is a huge faux pas and problem right there. You do not want to use free options, you do not want to use options hosted on your own site, you need to go and pay for a dependable service that will manage the email list for you.

It automatically lets people opt in, and it will automatically let people opt out, it very easily lets you go and put in a broadcast email and kaboom, send that out, and they send it out for you in a way that will make it through the spam filters, in a way that the email providers will not screen it out, and not get your marked as spam.

So let me point out that this is next to obviously you’ve got to have a website webhost to put a website on from the very beginning. If people say okay, what are the services I need from the very beginning? Well obviously web hosting and this would be the other one right away, that you need a good email list management service.

And the one that we have used, the one we recommend and have always used and recommend to everyone is GetMyEmailList.com, very thorough system. It gives you all the kinds of features, and stats, and things you need. They keep on top of all the latest best practices, they keep a good relationship with the email inbox providers so that your email…they have the highest deliverability in the industry, which is one of the biggest reasons we use them.

So that’s the one we recommend. It’s actually not that expensive per month, it’s just silly not to start building your list from day one, by signing up for this service from day one, and start building the list the right way. Again that is GetMyEmailList.com.

Sterling: And by the way, we have an interview with the CEO of GetMyEmailList.com in the Academy, and he shares a lot of tips and tricks on starting and maintaining a successful email list. Just a little tip…

Jay: Alright, so that’s step number eight. It’s building the list and effectively using it to market to and connect with your community. So step number nine, we’ve talked about getting your site up, we’ve talked about building your list, and we’ve talked about putting content out there on your blog and elsewhere.

And obviously these things don’t matter unless you start getting traffic, and that people know that it’s there. And people come because they find it and see that it looks compelling and hence sign up for your email list and come back to your site over and over. So you’ve got to drive traffic. And this is always one of the biggest questions people have, it’s one of the most popular parts of the Academy, is the segment on traffic.

And the good news, and one of the reasons we love internet business is that there are tons of opportunities for promoting yourself online, even for free and extremely inexpensively. Yes, there are some paid methods, but there’s a lot of things that you can do for free. So the core of the traffic strategy starts by just cranking out quality content in the form of blog posts, and audio, and video that you post to this site that you’ve put up. That was step number five that we talked about. And this content is going to then through RSS and other technologies that your blog creates is going to go out there and be syndicated to all these different places.

It’s going to show up in Google, it’s going to start attracting people to your site and making people aware of your thought leadership in the market, and the fact that you’re an expert who knows what’s going on. It’s going to give them a sample of the value that you offer and start building up that relationship with your market.

So this is something that you should start working on right away and be constantly working on every week. You should be adding new content to your site, keeping that position as a market leader by putting out relevant, authoritative content. Okay, so after you’re creating content, what else do you do?

And just by creating content and posting to your blog, you are going to attract some traffic. It’ll start showing up in these different places.  Well what are some of the other things you can do to start attracting traffic? Well there’s a lot of different things like search engine optimization, and paid advertising, and paid article writing, and all these different things that I want to talk about, a few here.

But before we go into a few of the specific ones, let me point out that traffic generation is about constant consistent work to meet certain goals and basically build up these little traffic streams, so that when they’re all put together and you look at it, now on a daily basis you’ve got massive amounts of traffic coming to your site, because you’ve worked up over time with your link building and getting different links back to your site, and posting quality content, and optimizing your site for search engines, and doing social networking and things like that is going to build up over time and that’s going to grow.

So there’s no magic bullet where tomorrow all of a sudden you’re going to have thousands, and thousands, and thousands of people coming to your site, unless of course you have tens of thousands of millions of dollars to throw into something like Google Adwords.
But it’s something you just start working on now, and you want to have those dependable traffic streams built up over time, because that way you’re not depending on one specific thing where if something all of a sudden changed, all of a sudden your traffic goes away. I mean there’s a lot of people who have done that with little tricks and getting listed in Google, and it’s really great.

And then all of a sudden Google realizes okay, that’s kind of skewing things a bit. So then they do what’s become known in the industry as a Google Slap, and next thing you know you’re not on the first page anymore, and your business goes bust instead of making thousands a month, you’re making nothing because no more traffic’s coming in because you were depending on that one outlet.

It reminds me of a story when I was still working as an engineer, and we’re designing this stuff for guitarists, and musicians that they use in studios and on stage to make cool sound effects and to record and stuff. And one of our largest…the number two distributor of this stuff, the number two buyer who put it into their stores went bankrupt.

So all of a sudden that’s a big chunk of our business that’s no longer coming in at that time, no longer buying our stuff. And everyone in the company was like wow, how is this going to affect us? And so if all your eggs are in one basket, you’re putting yourself at risk, so you definitely want to keep that in mind when it comes to traffic. It’s about regularly adding new traffic streams, testing the ones you have, see what’s working, doing more of what’s working, tweaking them bit by bit to improve results over time.

Sterling: Well and testing and tracking has become a complete obsession for me. Why? Because it’s like looking directly into the minds of your customers and your community, which of course allows you to adjust your message to meet their needs directly, which means a better relationship and my favorite – more sales!

So once you get that traffic, you need to start testing and looking, because that’s why. Because again, it almost becomes like being a mind reader, you see what they’re doing and then adjust things to what they’re doing. And one of the other points I wanted to make was, we actually realized that we were very dependent on one particular source of traffic which was iTunes, who we love dearly and we’ve taken many, many steps to draw in other sources of traffic.

Because it’s essential to have multiple streams of traffic, because imagine for us when we only have iTunes coming in. What if something happened in iTunes? We would suddenly lose almost our entire income if that’s where all of our traffic was coming from.

Jay: Absolutely, so you definitely want to be careful of those little magic traffic bullets. They’re not something you want to depend on and often they’re here and gone. And sometimes they end up hurting you in the end when things do all of a sudden change.

So what are some of the dependable strategies that you can do? Let’s break this up into two. First, let’s talk about some that take some time to develop over time. Well obviously there’s search engine traffic, search engine optimization. And the search engine is kind of like the holy grail of traffic because it’s targeted.

If somebody searches for a certain phrase that’s related to your market, to your products and you come up at the top, immediately people think well, this is….we all know that you look at the top of the Google results, and whoever is in the top slot or the top few slots, well you immediately think well that’s the best site. That’s the place to go, they’re the authority, that’s the best one, let’s go here.

That’s who gets the most traffic, the higher you can be listed in the search engines, the better off you’re going to be, the more traffic you’re going to get, and that’s going to be very target traffic. And it’s free traffic, every time a visitor comes from a search engine to your site, it doesn’t cost you anything.

Now you are going to put some time and resources, and maybe some money into building up to the point of being in the top of the search engines, but over time that is free traffic, and so obviously very sought after. So search engine optimization, we could do a whole show on that, and we’re not going to go into it here. But basically it breaks down into a couple things, making your site look relevant to Google for whatever your topic is.

If you want to be the number one knitting site, or maybe it’s very specific – the number one site about knitting scarves, you need to make sure that Google sees you as very relevant to knitting scarves. Number two is you need to be seen as authoritative. You need to be seen as a site that’s not only relevant to knitting scarves, but one of the best sites or the best site about knitting scarves.

And usually that has to do with how many people are linking back to you. Somewhere along the way, Google and the search engines decided you know what? We’re going to consider every link back to you a vote for your authority. The more links you have coming back to you, the more authoritative we’re going to think you are. And if you happen to have a link from someone like Yahoo, or New York Times, or About.com – one of these very authoritative sites – we’re going to really see you as more authoritative because these big dependable sites have decided to link to you.

So these are the kinds of things that you need to build up over time. You optimize your site, and the keywords that you use on your site, and the way that you format your site, and in building links back to your site. And the more you do that over time, the more you will build up results coming back to….the higher up you’ll be in the search engine results and the more traffic that will bring to your site.

You’ve got things like submitting articles to article directories, obviously creating a blog and then syndicating that through putting that into blog directories, making a podcast and getting it to iTunes and to iTunes directories, creating videos and putting that into YouTube, and the other sharing sites. And these are all free things you can do that are going to start building up traffic back to your site.

And those are the kinds of things that take time to develop and build up over time. Alright, what about some strategies that can start bringing in results in a matter of hours? Well one of the big ones are pay per click. When Google came out with the whole…basically created the pay per click industry with Google Adwords, that became extremely popular because now all of a sudden you can start getting traffic right away from the search engines if you weren’t listed at the top, you could bid money to be listed there over on the right side where those ads sponsored listings are.
And depending on how much you bid, it would affect where you show up in those results, and in a matter of hours you could see traffic coming in. Now of course over time it’s gotten more competitive and certain phrases are going to be very, very expensive to list for.  But there’s a number of strategies that you can do to put together a pay per click campaign, put some money into that, and start seeing traffic right away.

And this is a great way to drive traffic to surveys to try to test out a market. It’s a great way to drive traffic to an initial product to kind of start building some buzz. It’s an immediate way to start seeing some results, and testing out different keywords, and ads and things. It’s just going to take some money to get started.

Similarly, you can place banner ads or text ads on other people’s sites. Another paid method, but it will start bringing in money right away. And another awesome one for bringing in traffic right away is simply to do kind of a partnership or a joint venture with somebody where you go to them and say, “Hey look, if you promote this on your site, I don’t have a whole lot of traffic, but you do. And if you promote this through your blog on your site, how about I give you half of the revenue,” or whatever your agreement is. Or, “I’ll pay you a commission on every sale that comes through your site.”

And then that way you can immediately start getting customers, and immediately start building up your list by putting those kind of partnerships together. So if you want to get more details on these, we detail both the long term and the quick results strategies inside of the Academy, and of course all nine. It’s a huge course and it goes into specifically all these things – search engine optimization, and how to set up your WordPress site to be optimized, how to do link building, how to use podcasting and videos online, how to put together joint venture partnerships, all these things we go into a lot of detail inside the Academy.

So to jump on that right away and get more information about this stuff, you can visit InternetBusinessMasteryAcademy.com. So the important thing is to make a plan, set some goals, and just work steadily at it. Again, it’s lots of little streams of traffic that build up to the massive daily traffic to your site and your products everyday.

And that is what is going to determine your income, how many people can you drive to your site? Alright, so those are the next two steps – step eight and step nine that we just went over – email marketing, building up your list. So starting that list, getting a dependable service, GetMyEmailList.com and starting to build your list today, that’s step number eight.

And step number nine is to start building traffic over time using all these different methods. Just pick one and start putting a system into place, and you pick the next one and start putting the system in place. And going back to speaking about Virtual Assistants, they are awesome for traffic building kind of stuff.

There’s a lot of great Virtual Assistants out there who can be working 24/7…well not 24/7, but full time, eight hours a day building links back to your site and optimizing your site. And you bet if you have somebody doing that full time for you, you’re going to start getting some traffic. So going back to the GetReplaceMyself.com, that’s going to be very useful for traffic as well.

Sterling: Alright, so we want to know what you think. What traffic generation methods have worked well for you? Please let us know by going to InternetBusinessMastery.com. Click on episode 61, and give your answer in the comments section at the bottom of the post.

Jay: Alright, we have a breakthrough, or success story to share with you today. This one is very cool, anyone who’s been listening for a while knows last year I went down to South America for a while. My wife and I lived in Argentina, and an Internet Business Mastery listener recently shared with me on Twitter and Facebook his own similar story. And actually for him it’s with his whole family, so this is very cool.

So recently he moved to Costa Rica with his family, and plans on living there full time for a while. And here’s what he said in his message he shared with me. He said, “I never really like ‘working.’ Just something about it seemed off to me, I was struggling in the New York metro area trying to raise a family on one income because we don’t believe in daycare.

My choices were either A, get a higher paying job which was unappealing due to the B.S. and commute times involved, or B, reduce my expenses which was nigh impossible as we lived very simply and couldn’t keep up with the Jones’. I decided to build websites as extra income and realized I could do it from anywhere and went back to my lifelong dream of global travel.

I researched a lot of places, Australia, Spain, Czech Republic, Italy, France, India, Argentina, and Costa Rica finally won out. It has abundant nature, mellow lifestyle, low cost of living, and we could afford to buy four plane tickets here. We’re here, we hope permanently.”

Oh, I guess they’re hoping to be there permanently. That’s awesome. Then he finishes, “We’re living the next year on an organic coffee farm with fruit trees up the wazoo for a ¼ of my mortgage in the United States.” So that’s an awesome story, I mean I just love hearing stuff like that.

Another friend of mine who has a podcast, I was listening to him yesterday and he’s thinking about how to do something like this with his family as well. And it’s just so cool to hear about people shaking it up, and taking bold actions, and just like saying, “You know what? I don’t want to do the status quo, like I want something else!” And they make it happen.

So that’s Art Blaslow, is his name that shared that story with us. So thank you very much for that. And you can find his website at EchoLeaf.com.

Sterling: Nice, yeah that’s awesome to hear. Not only somebody wants to just simply travel, but he’s completely moved because he can!

Jay: Permanently no less! That’s awesome.

It’s time for the Internet Business Quick Tip….

Jay: So in this episode’s Quick Tip, we’ve got a very cool piece of software that can save you a whole lot of time, especially doing repetitive menial things. It has a great tool for automation, and it’s a program called Work Space Macro. And I’m going to go ahead and throw to you Sterling, tell a little bit about how to use this.

I know we both used it, but you’ve done a lot of really creative things with it. So how about you tell us a little bit about how you use Work Space Macro.

Sterling: Okay, ok so here’s basically what it is. I use this macro program so that all I have to do is hit one button on my keyboard. Then I can get up, go have breakfast or go take a break and when I come back, everything I programmed this macro to do is up and ready for me to look at.

And that way I don’t need to sit there let’s say and open a bunch of windows trying to let’s say look at my email, and Twitter, and all these different things that we do constantly during a day, and we have to open each one of them, log into every single thing. I can actually just click that button, come back in twenty minutes, and everything’s ready for me to look at.

I totally love it. And here’s a couple of examples. For me, once a week specifically I have to look at all the business statistic stuff that I need for Internet Business Mastery and my business stuff. Well I can program this macro by one time going through, opening everything up.

So let’s say I open up my browser, I open up a bunch of tabs, and I go into let’s say the email program. I go into Google Analytics, I go into to see what our sales stats are. I go into iTunes to see where our ranking is on iTunes. And all that stuff, to sit there and open all that, say it takes twenty minutes. Well I do it one time while recording with this macro program, and then from then on I can just click that one shortcut, or that one…I actually map it to a button on my keyboard.

But I can hit that button, and it will do all twenty minutes worth of stuff while I’m away, and I don’t actually have to do it anymore. Does that make sense?

Jay: Yeah, I mean anything that automates and saves time, I think when you told me about that, that sounds pretty brilliant. I should definitely do more of that myself.

Sterling: And okay, so here’s another example. I actually used to use this when I would ship products. So I would have to open Paypal, open my shopping cart, open my auto responder service, go to the exact webpage that I need for each of the services and press the labels for printing and all this stuff. And each time I had to do this, it would take me let’s say ten to fifteen minutes, every single day, it’s totally mindless work.

It’s just this repetitive boring stuff that you have to do, and some people have to do this all throughout the day. They’re constantly doing certain things like this that really it’s just a waste of human time, right? Like if I have to do the fifteen minutes every single day, then in even one week I’m saving possibly hours of time. And if I’ve got ten of these tasks that take me fifteen minutes a day that I can instead of have something else do it for me while I’m off reading or doing something that can actually be enjoyable to me, then that’s incredibly important.

So go now and check out this program at InternetBusinessMastery.com/macro. It’s really cheap, and this thing, I use it for so many things. Just today alone, I’ve used it three times. And all I did was push a button, and it did a bunch of things, and I love it.

Jay: Awesome.
